The Wrangler won Autobytel’s Autobytel’s 2012 SUV of the Year title, and it won the same title from Overland Journal. Furthermore it has won Best Car for the Money in the Off-Road SUV category from U.S. News & World Reports. Moving on, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has won a Vehix recommendation and the Grand Cherokee SRT8 has won the title of Top 10 Most Fun to Drive Cars from The Fast Lane Car. Next time that you are looking at a vehicle, why not look at the Jeep Grand Cherokee? The Jeep Grand Cherokee has won numerous awards. The Detroit news has named it the “Truck of the Year.” The Detroit news said positive things about the SUV. They said “From the new 280-horsepower Pentastar V-6 to a gorgeous interior, the Grand Cherokee delivers both on the road and off like no other vehicle at this price.” Much more important is the award for crash test ratings because we always need a vehicle to protect us in the event of a crash. The 2012 Grand Cherokee has been named a top safety pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and it has also been given a five star crash rating from the U.S. government. The new generation of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 made its European debut at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. Grand Cherokee SRT8 combines the legendary Jeep capability and utility with head-turning ‘Street and Racing Technology’ performance. With the all-new 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 that delivers 470 horsepower SAE, the best-performing Jeep vehicle ever achieves a top speed of up to 160 mph.
A new active valve exhaust system allows for standard Fuel Saver Technology to ensure a 13-percent improvement in highway fuel efficiency. The lowered profile, race-inspired interior and exclusive SRT steering wheel with mounted paddle shifters give a performance-oriented style to the Jeep flagship and anticipate the sporty performance granted both on road and at the race track. The new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 will be available in European Jeep dealerships in the first quarter of 2012.

While Jeep opened up the 2011 model year with a redesigned Grand Cherokee, and then rolled out the Wrangler, Patriot, and Liberty, customers had to wait a bit longer for the reworked Compass. The biggest news that die-hard Jeep fans may be interested in, is that the Compass is, for the first time, available as a a trail rated model. The 2011 Compass gets new front-end styling that makes it look like a smaller version of the Grand Cherokee SUV, Jeep’s flagship model. Styling changes to the rear are more subtle. The Compass also gets interior revisions and a new Trail Rated model for 2011.
For 2011 Compasspower two four-cylinder engines are available. Also consumers can choose a variety of drivelines: front-wheel drive; Freedom Drive I four-wheel drive with lock mode; and Freedom Drive II Off-Road Package, a Trail-Rated four-wheel-drive system. Freedom Drive II has a continuously variable automatic transmission that incorporates a low range for off-road driving. The package also includes 17-inch all-terrain tires, a full-size spare tire, a one-inch-higher ride height, skid plates and tow hooks.
